I find myself in conversation with each piece as layer upon layer adds a history, a past.
What came before, do I want to keep it, remember it, see it? What should be buried in the past by applying the next layer of paper, and the next layer, and the next?
This cannot be rushed. Like all good conversations [and art] it requires balance between simplicity and details, thoughtfulness, listening, in this case with the eyes, and patience, while always trusting in the process.
Papers used are original hand pulled woodcut prints, monotypes, or hand painted on washi, with a bit of fine art washi for good measure.

These are the stories we tell ourselves as we lay down to sleep, until we rise again in the morning.
Stories formed from out memories, our imaginations, our perceptions, our beliefs, our dreams.
